RECREATIONAL LEAGUE

DC Soccer Club is the District of Columbia's largest youth sports program with more than 3,500 players participating in its Recreational Program each fall and spring. The success of our Rec program is simple: We provide a place for players of all abilities to play in an environment focused on fun that is neighborhood based. Built through the service of volunteer coaches and commissioners, the program is low-cost and maintains a lighter commitment level for families to enjoy the foundation of organized soccer. We also offer financial aid for families that qualify.


DCSC provides a coed soccer league for players in Pre-K - Grade 12, and a girls-only league for players in Grades 1 - 12.  Nearly half of all recreational players are girls, making DC Soccer Club the largest youth sports program for girls in the city. DC Soccer Club's recreational program is offered in both fall and spring, with practices held once per week localized in neighborhoods and eight league games across DC on Saturdays. Players are placed on teams requested or based on school to ensure a convenient location and social engagement. The fall season begins after Labor Day and extends into the early part of November. The spring season begins in early April and runs through mid-June.

  • 1 practice/week, 8 games on Saturdays (Pre-K Plus = 7 Saturdays only)
  • Spring or fall seasons (please see Winter Futsal League if interested in rec program over winter)

  • Players can request to be on a specific team or with a specific coach during registration

  • Early Bird Discount - $20 off registration fee

Spring 2026 Season Info and Key Dates

GAME DATES K - High School April 18, 25; May 2, 9, 16, 30; June 6, 13 (No Games on 5/23)

KEY DATES Feb. 2 Last day for the Guaranteed Return to Team process (Returning players from Fall 2025 who register before February 1st are guaranteed team placement on the same team from the previous season)
Feb. 3 Beginning this day, any registered player is eligible for any open spot on a team. ** Player's requests will be rostered based on registration date.
March 9 Last day for regular-priced registration - Late Fee (additional $30) applies on March 10
March 10 Team Formation Deadline: No new teams may be created after this point. This deadline may be earlier at the discretion of the AGC
April 3 Coaches select practice slots
April 6 Game schedules due to be posted on PlayMetrics
April 6 First week practices may begin
April 18 First day of Rec League games. No refunds given after this date.
April 25 First day of Pre-K Plus Games

Uniforms

All New Players to the Rec League must order uniforms for Spring (see info below). For returning players considering upgrading to a new uniform this spring, please be aware we will enter a new uniform cycle beginning in the fall season for 2026-2027 and these will be a new design, mandatory uniform purchase at that time. The new uniform information will be updated for fall registration beginning in June.


ORDER ONLINE: All recreational players must have have both Adidas NAVY and RED jerseys (home and away). New players to the program must purchase uniforms from our partner, PJ's Soccer Shop of Bethesda: https://dcsoccerrec23-24.itemorder.com/shop/home/


*All DC Soccer Club members receive a 10% club discount at PJ's Soccer Shop in store for non-uniform and non-sale items. 

OTHER EQUIPMENT NEEDED: Shin guards, appropriate soccer shoes, shorts and soccer socks are also required, but can be purchased anywhere. However, PJ’s Soccer Shop has all of these items available and affordably priced—black Adidas shorts and navy Adidas socks can be purchased via the online store or in store.


SHIPPING/PICK UP: Uniforms must be ordered online, but can be shipped to home ($10 fee) or picked up in the store (free) during check out. If you choose to pick up in store, you will receive an email when your purchase is ready and make sure to bring the email confirmation/receipt of your order.


FINANCIAL AID: For players that qualify for financial aid and who need a new jersey, make sure to select YES during registration when asked "Does this player need to order a uniform."
