REC ALL-STAR CUP
Celebrating Excellence in Our Recreational Program
The
DC Soccer Club Recreational All-Star Cup is a special one-day tournament held each November to recognize and celebrate the outstanding players from our Recreational League. The event provides an opportunity for these players to showcase their skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship in a fun, yet competitive setting that reflects the spirit of the DCSC community.
The All-Star Cup brings together selected players from across our 2nd through 6th grade divisions for an exciting day of small-sided games. Players are chosen by their Recreational coaches based on their performance, teamwork, leadership, and positive attitude throughout the season.
Teams are formed by DCSC's recreational staff to encourage new connections and balanced play. Players are mixed across neighborhoods and teams to experience the social, community-building side of the game that is central to DCSC’s mission.
Selection Process
Participation in the Rec All-Star Cup is by coach nomination only. Each Recreational coach selects two to three players from their team who exemplify strong skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Invitations are sent to families by mid-October, with registration instructions included at that time.
Players chosen for the All-Star Cup represent the best of what DCSC’s Recreational Program stands for: joy in play, commitment to improvement, and respect for the game and one another.
Purpose of the All-Star Cup
The All-Star Cup highlights the incredible talent, sportsmanship, and growth within DCSC’s Recreational Program. It also serves as a bridge for players showing strong potential, helping identify athletes who may be interested in future opportunities within our Player Development Clinics, Select, or Travel programs.
Beyond the competition, the event reinforces the club’s core values of Intention, Inclusion, Collaboration, and Community—giving young players a day to celebrate their hard work, enjoy the game they love, and connect with peers from across the District.
