PRE-K PLUS PROGRAM
PRE-K REGISTRATION IS OPEN AND FOUND UNDER
2026 SPRING REC LEAGUE REGISTRATION -- CHOOSE
COED PRE-K PLUS
(for eligible ages).
Pre-K Plus combines the popular aspects of our Rec League soccer with added coach education to enhance the experience for both players and volunteer coaches. It is part of our Recreational League registration, but has special programming to engage and develop Pre-K players just beginning their soccer journey.
Pre-K Plus is designed to teach players the fundamentals of soccer while introducing them to team play. Overseen by professional staff to mentor volunteer coaches, the first part of each session includes a series of fun, age-appropriate activities to introduce foundational technical skills through imaginative play while developing motor skills. The second part of each session plays scheduled games against other teams to acclimate the young players to teamwork and the game setting. The program has dual goals: (1) develop players as soccer players and team members and (2) develop the volunteer coaches. By the end of the season, players are more confident with a ball and in a team setting, while volunteer coaches have learned the tools to continue developing along their coaching journey.

FAQs
How does Pre-K Plus differ from Tots if both programs are for 3-4 year olds?
Tots are coached by professional staff and focus developing foundational skills through creative activities throughout each session. Pre-K Plus is part of our Recreational program that also includes a team format with games. While the program is led by professional staff, each team has an assigned volunteer coach that first works with their team in building foundational skills through creative activities for part of the session, then guides them in scheduled games against other teams for the second part of the session.
Are teams coed at this age? Can I place my player with friends?
Yes, teams are coed and you can request to be placed on teams with friends or with a specific volunteer coach during registration. However, there is a deadline for these registration requests each season. Please see key dates above specific to the season.
Are there practices during the week or just games on Saturdays?
Sessions are only on Saturdays and each session is broken in to a practice format for fun skill development and game format.
Do we bring a ball?
Each player is given a size 3 ball at the first session to keep and bring to all sessions.
How many players are on a team and what is the game format?
Each team will have 6-8 players on the roster and play 4v4 games. The field size and rules are modified for this age group, and is an introduction to game play.
Can I bring snacks for the team after games?
Some teams organize a snack schedule. Please talk to your team's coach.
