WASHINGTON- DC Soccer Club is pleased to announce Tom Walsh has been elevated to the role of Travel Director. Walsh had been a director on the travel staff for more than a year, serving as the DCSC Director of Brookland Operations since Brookland FC merged with DC Soccer Club in 2023. A resident of Brookland, Walsh founded Brookland FC with Ryan Donnellan in 2020 to serve the community with competitive soccer teams.
"Tom has been a very important piece to the growth of DCSC and our connection to the city around us,” said Director of Soccer, Matt Arrington. “With that said, I'm thrilled to see him moving into the Travel Director position where he will only continue to positively affect this club and our forward progress into the future. Tom has built roots here in DC and truly understands the word 'community,' which is at the center of what we're building at DCSC."
As Travel Director, Walsh will oversee coaching and player development, manage talent identification programming, assist in planning program expansion, and collaborate with other club directors to advance our travel program. He will also oversee the Winterfest League that brings together several DC clubs to compete in a format over winter that ensures accessibility and development in a nurturing environment.
“I am beyond excited to play a larger role in DC Soccer Club,” said Walsh. “I thoroughly enjoy every aspect of our club as a coach and director, just as I did as a player for the club. The club has been building a great atmosphere and I look forward to enhancing the overall experience for coaches, players and parents.”
In addition to his role in leadership, Walsh coaches the 2013 and 2012 boys DCSC Brookland Blue teams. As a fourth generation Washingtonian, he is a key stakeholder in the community and continues to serve as the head coach for Archbishop Carroll High School boy’s varsity soccer team. He grew up playing for DC Soccer Club, then known as DC Stoddert, and at Gonzaga College High School. He went on to play collegiate soccer at Wheeling Jesuit University.
Walsh has experience coaching at the youth, high school and collegiate level, and holds his USSF C license.
