WASHINGTON, D.C. - DC Soccer Club is honored to announce that travel coach Shawn Dastan has recently been hired to lead Clube Desportivo Gouveia in Portugal as a head coach and youth director. Dastan coached the U19 Blue boys team and U13 Red girls team this past season for DC Soccer Club’s travel program. 

“On behalf of the entire DC Soccer Club family, I want to extend our warmest congratulations to coach Shawn Dastan,” said DCSC Technical Director Edu de Souza. “Shawn's dedication and hard work have tremendously impacted our travel teams. His coaching expertise and leadership will be truly missed, but we are thrilled for him as he embarks on this incredible opportunity.”

Clube Desportivo Gouveia is a professional sports club based in Gouveia, Portugal, with a senior team, junior team, and youth teams. Dastan will lead the U19 junior team, as well as oversee the youth teams. The senior team currently plays in the 1st division of the District Championship of the Guarda Football Association. The club is one of the most titled in the Association and the District, boasting 60 years of success which most recently includes winning the 2022/2023 season title.
