WASHINGTON-  DC Soccer Club Travel Coach Erwin Diaz has earned his USSF B Coaching License. Travel Coaches Nabayee Tesfu, Efrain Viana, and Ronny Amaguaña have received their USSF C Coaching License. 

Diaz is a longtime Boys Travel Coach, serves as the Age Group Director for the U11/U12 Boys Age Group, and recently led the U12 Blue Metros to a championship win in the Eastern President Cup. Tesfu, Viana, and Amaguaña have all served as coaches on the Boys' side of the Travel program for several years.

The B License course is designed to introduce coaching concepts for older age groups, specifically for players aged 16 to college. The C License course seeks to educate coaches and teach them to best execute coaching tasks for the  U11-U19+ age groups. 

Nabayee Tesfu said, “I'm excited to have earned my USSF C Coaching License. Speaking to my colleagues, mentors, and other coaches, I've been taught that obtaining your coaching license is a huge part of my coaching education. It is a testament to the desire and hard work that a coach must put in outside of the soccer field to be the best coach they can be. I was able to connect, work with and learn from many other coaches in the DMV that were fantastic to take the course with. I look forward to implementing and executing what I learned on the field with DC Soccer Club!”

Efrain Viana said, “I took my National C License with PA West State Soccer from December 2022 until May 2023. I was able to learn a new methodology of coaching which has given me new insight into how to become a better coach. It was an overall great experience learning new ways to coach with great instructors. I plan to use the newly gained coaching knowledge to improve how I coach my DC Soccer Club teams and hope to prepare for my national B license soon.”

Ronny Amaguaña said, “I took my National “C” coaching license on March 2022 with PA West State Soccer. It was a great experience because I was able to learn a new methodology of coaching to give you a bigger outlook (bigger picture) to become a better coach. I was able to learn new ways to give instructions by looking for specific triggers that will make it easier for players to understand different situations. Overall, it was a great experience for me, because it taught me ways to improve team chemistry/inclusion and togetherness on and off the field. This past season I was able to see the difference from my previous teams and I plan to continue to use the newly gained knowledge to improve my coaching as well as my teams. I also look forward to a new season with DC Soccer Club and to preparing for my B license in the near future.”
