US Soccer A License Sam Bader to Serve as the Boys Director for Travel with the DC Soccer Club.

DC Soccer Club has recently brought on Sam Bader as the club’s new Boys Director for Travel.

WASHINGTON-  DC Soccer Club, DC’s largest youth soccer organization, is excited to welcome Sam Bader to the club as the Boys Director for Travel. 

Sam Bader has a rich history with the game of soccer and has been playing and coaching the sport at a high level for decades. 

Bader said, "I am excited for the wonderful opportunity DC Soccer Club has afforded me as Boys’ Travel Director. I look forward to sharing my passion for the game with the players, families, and the community!”

Edu De Souza, DC Soccer Club’s Technical Director, said, “Sam is a top quality coach, A- license, with a lot of experience and results on the field among his teams. His addition to the staff will have an immediate impact on our club.”

In high school, he was awarded Standout Athlete at Hayfield Secondary School with both District and Metro Honors, after playing soccer throughout his childhood. During his college years, Bader played for George Mason University from 1999-2002 where he was an NCAA D1 Top 25 Player. He went on to play Semi-professionally in VISL from 2002-2005. Bader has coached and been a member of the senior staff for clubs in the area for over a decade. He was the head coach for Washington Spirit Youth Super Y from 2014-2016, as well as a VYSA ODP State Coach and Northern District Director. On top of that, Bader served as Head Coach for CCL United teams participating in the Gothia Cup (Sweden), Vildbjerg Cup (Denmark), the Target USA Cup (Minnesota), Virginia U16 ODP Girls vs the Belgian U18 Women’s National Team. 

He has several coaching accolades including Virginia State Cup Champion, Super Y National Champion, ODP Region 1 Champion, ODP National Championship Finalist, and USYS National League Finalist. Bader also has many league championships (CCL, NCSL, ODSL, WAGS) and tournament championships (Jeff Cup (VA), PDA (NJ), Bethesda (MD), Disney (FL), Target USA Cup (MN), WAGS (VA), Potomac (MD)) under his belt. Bader has his US Soccer A License as well as his US Soccer National Youth License.

Bader will be charged with implementing The DCSC Curriculum provided by Travel Director and supervising player and coach development programs. In his role, he will provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to coaches on the boy’s side of the travel program.
