Eddie Lima joins DC Soccer Club as Director of Coaching and Programs Development

DC Soccer Club has hired Eddie Lima as the Director of Coaching and Programs Development.

WASHINGTON- DC Soccer Club welcomes Eddie Lima as their new Director of Coaching and Programs Development. 

The soccer community of the DMV universally respects Eddie Lima. For over 20 years Eddie has given back to the game as a coach, educator, and Technical Director. He has been a dedicated coach in the Olympic Development Program and has served as a US Soccer National Coaching License Instructor. While Lima served as a Technical Director, he oversaw a 25% growth in player and team participation and received national recognition for his innovative programming. On and off the field, Lima has had an illustrious career winning championships as a player and coach in Brazil and in the United States. In 2014, he was awarded an NSCAA National Award for the Best Development Program from Recreational to Travel Program at the club level. To see more of Lima’s accomplishments, please click here.

Developing programs and players are his specialty. Lima will be joining our club as The Director of Coaching and Programs Development. He is charged with implementing a curriculum as part of the long-term development plan for each age group within the club. He will evaluate and assist our coaches to ensure the club's philosophy and objectives are being pursued. Further, he will implement a collaborative player evaluation process that provides periodic and constructive feedback. Key to the club's culture, Lima will coordinate with our technical staff to engage a common training methodology and style of play within the club. All teams will be prepared to execute a clear game model that is DC Soccer.   

Lima said, “I am looking forward to being part of this exciting adventure of joining the DC Soccer Club.  I aim to create an innovative coaching culture in the club with players, coaches and families. I believe it is very important to completely invest in every player. As coaches, we have a unique opportunity to serve as a mentor to young people which can be crucial to their development, growth, and confidence. We should strive not only to create better soccer players but better people in a positive learning environment for all players and their families.”

Executive Director of DC Soccer Club, Greg Andrulis, said, “Eddie is a first-class person, coach, and developer of innovative programming. Eddie will oversee the implementation of a club-wide curriculum that will be age and developmentally appropriate for our players, and have the responsibility to oversee our programs which are a key component of our developmental model. Eddie's experience at every level of the club soccer space will be incredibly beneficial to our entire club. Eddie is a builder of programs, a developer of teams, and a mentor of players.
