DC Soccer Club Hires Michele Rodriguez -Smith

Michele Rodriguez -Smith, who currently coaches with the Washington Spirit Reserves, joins the DC Soccer Club as an Age Group Director and Travel Coach.

WASHINGTON- DC Soccer Club, D.C.’s largest youth soccer organization, has hired Michele Rodriguez-Smith to coach the Girls U13-14 Blue Metros and serve as Age Group Director. In this role, she is responsible for coaching and managing girls born in 2009 and 2010 at an advanced level of play.

Rodriguez-Smith is a well-established coach, she currently works with the Washington Spirit, serving as the Assistant Coach of the Spirit Reserves Team. Coach Rodriguez-Smith also serves as the Head Coach for Notre Dame University of Maryland’s Women’s Soccer Team. Before landing her current positions, she worked with the Washington Capital United Girls’ Program, the US Soccer Federation with the United States Youth National Team, the Women’s Soccer Program at the College of William and Mary, and the University of Georgia Women’s Soccer Program. 

With an impressive coaching background, Rodriguez-Smith is poised to bring high-level skill and experience to DC Soccer Club. She said, "I am excited to bring my experience in coaching at the professional and youth soccer levels to developing competitive girls’ soccer teams at DCSC.” Rodriguez-Smith continued, “I am looking forward to working with Greg Andrulis and Khaled Hamami in continuing to build an already established girls’ program."

Khaled Hamami, Technical Director of the DC Soccer Club, said, “We are very excited to welcome Coach Michele to the club. She brings a wealth of experience in the game, and we are looking forward to having her lead the U13-14 age groups.”

“Having a positive role model is an important part of coaching youth players, and Coach Michele is a great example of that” Hamami continued.
