U14 Blue Metros win Arlington Spring Invitational Tournament

FOUR DC STODDERT TEAMS PARTICIPATE IN THE ARLINGTON SPRING INVITATIONAL TOURNAMENT

 

WASHINGTON- This weekend, four DC Stoddert teams played in the Arlington Spring Invitational Tournament (ASIST), with Boys U14 Blue Metros winning the U14 Elite Red Division. The U13 Blue Metros came in second in the U13 Premier Division, while the U10 and U9 Red Metros each came in second in their respective groups. 

“It was a great weekend from the boys, and showcases all the hard work put in this winter. It is always great to compete and win tournaments like this so early in the season,” said Technical Director Khaled Hamami. 

The U14 Blue Metros triumphed in the final over Loudoun Soccer Red 1-0, while the U13 Blue Metros lost 0-1 in a hard fought match against the South County Youth Club Lions Blues (SYC). The Boys U13 and U14 Red teams also participated in the tournament The U13 Red finished the tournament with a record of 2-1 while the U14 Red finished 3-0-1 but were knocked out on a clean sheet tiebreaker per the tournament's rules.

The U10 Boys came in second in their group with six points in three games, with the U9 Boys finished group play with four points. 

Next weekend the Girls U9-U12 teams will participate in the ASIST tournament, with fourteen DC Stoddert teams participating in the tournament. 

About DC Stoddert Travel: DC Stoddert Soccer's Travel program is a competitive soccer program for players with above average skills and a strong drive to develop their soccer abilities and love of the game. The Travel program serves more than 700 children ages 8-19. Players compete in a variety of leagues and competitions throughout Region I of U.S. Youth Soccer.
